James Burke
Founder & CEO of HP People, James launched market-leading executive search firm The Ladder in 2003, before metamorphosing the business into HP People in 2013 as new opportunities beckoned.
In sync with the ever-increasing and evolving demands on leaders, alongside luminary psychologists James architected Perform IQ, a multi-dimensional assessment model that predicts a leader’s ability to perform today and transform a business for tomorrow. Springing HP People into a diversification of services and narrowing the focus on start-ups, growth ventures and digitally powered enterprises.
With prior experience spanning marketing and leadership roles in the UK and Asia Pacific, followed by MD and CEO roles for regional and global executive search firms, James’ entrepreneurial vision has seen HP People build one of the region’s strongest client bases, driven by a customer-orientation and commitment to results that has delivered a 100% success rate and 96% stay rate across 1,200+ assignments.
An advisor, investor and connector to startups and scale-ups, when not working James loves sport, music, design and renovating, as well as spending time with his wife, family and friends on the water.
Vlad Mehakovic
As HP People’s future-building data scientist, software engineer and growth marketer, Vlad pioneered an early protypes of Forebrite with Laundromap, Providoor, MoleMap and MedView, before consulting to Hanrob in partnership with James.
With a passion for developing sophisticated systems that use data, statistical algorithms and machine learning techniques to analyse customer behaviour and predict future actions, Vlad has become an invaluable asset and strategic partner to HP People’s clients. A technology agnostic, he’s now consulting to companies across AI, healthcare, consumer, fintech, proptech, edtech and across multiple PE portfolio companies.
After a career in start-ups and scale-ups, from Growth Consultant to CEO, Vlad’s walked the many high-roads and low-roads, and it’s his mission to help every start-up and technology venture drive repeatable revenue growth and achieve sustainable business expansion. Today.
Besides changing the conversation daily from marketing metrics to hard growth metrics, when he’s not at work Vlad’s a gym junkie, adoring husband and newly found father, with little to no other time currently left on weekends!
